Fences need help too!
Don’t just keep up the looks of your deck, you fence may need some help too.
This fence went from an old worn out gray look to brand new in just a few days. Our 3 step process takes wood from being damaged and gray to new stained and protected.
The first step in any wood restoration project is always the cleaning portion. For this step we used Southern Stain & Seal’s wood cleaner and approximately 800 psi of water from our pressure washer.
The second step involves brightening of the wood. After using a cleaner or a wood stripper product, the PH balance is off and causes the wood to have a dark appearance. We counteract this by using what is called a brightener. What happens is that the brightener neutralizes the cleaners, bringing the PH levels in the wood back to normal thus you have a brightening effect.
The cleaning and brightening of the fence is performed on the same day. Then depending on temperatures, you must wait for 2 to 4 days for the wood to dry out so that it can accept the stain.
This fence was finished with Baker’s Gray-Away Super Cedar Dark color and not one board was replaced in the finishing of this fence.

Using a wood cleaner before power washing is what separates the Pros from the Joes. It takes extra time and carries an extra expense but it will allow the cleaning to be done using much less pressure and the end result will look much better.
